Cool Off with these Summer Punch Recipes

A large bowl or pitcher of punch is the perfect way to cool off and impress your guests at your gatherings this summer. Whether you are planning a July 4th cookout or just getting friends together for a garden party, summer punch is a great addition to any seasonal soiree. Here are some delicious summer punch recipes to try out this season!
Sherbet Fruit Punch
Ingredients
  • 2 quarts of Sprite or 7-up
  • 1 can (46 oz.) of pineapple juice
  • 1 can (46 oz.) of orange juice
  • 2 pints of lime sherbet
  • Fresh strawberries
Directions
Pour the soda and juices into a large punchbowl. Add a few scoops of sherbet right before serving, and garnish with strawberries. Continuously add sherbet to the punch to keep it cold.
Golden Slushy Punch
Ingredients
  • 1 gallon of water
  • 5 cups of sugar
  • 2 cups of lemon juice
  • 1 can (46 oz.) of pineapple juice
  • 1 can (46 oz.) of orange juice
  • 1 tbs. of almond flavoring
  • 1 tbs. of vanilla flavoring
  • 1 bottle (2 liters) of Sprite
Directions
Bring the sugar and water to a boil in a large saucepan. Cook and stir continuously for 2 minutes. Pour into a large container and add all of the juices and vanilla and almond flavorings. Pour into a freezer bag and put it in the freezer until slushy. Add the soda right before serving.
Pink Rhubarb Punch
Ingredients
  • 6 cups of water
  • 2 lbs. or red rhubarb
  • 2 ½ cups of sugar
  • 3 ½ cups of grapefruit juice
  • ½ cup of lemon juice
  • 1 quart of ginger ale
Directions
Heat water in a large pot until it boils. Wash and cut the rhubarb and cook them in the water until mushy. Press through sieve, collecting the juice in a large bowl. Add sugar and stir until dissolved. Place the mixture in the refrigerator until it is chilled. Add the grapefruit and lemon juices. Right before serving, add the ginger ale.
